PharmaSwap

How does it work?

PharmaSwap is the online sharing platform for all (outpatient) pharmacies and wholesale organisations. 1 place for everyone to advertise demand for or supply of (expensive) medicines approaching the expiration date. This way we can save costs and work more sustainable!

Wholesale → pharmacy

Wholesale organisations are using PharmaSwap to prevent the unnecessary wastage of medicines with a limited expiry date. Their supply can be browsed and bought freely.

Pharmacy → pharmacy

For sharing of medication between pharmacists, specific rules apply to be in accordance with current rules and legislation. When pharmacy A and B have agreed on a price, pharmacy A will become the treating pharmacy. Both receive instructions of how to proceed from PharmaSwap.

Seller:
  1. Receives the prescription within 2 working days and, if necessary, the basic set of medication monitoring data, processes it and dispenses the medication.
  2. Does not claim reimbursement for this medicine from the health insurer.
  3. Prepares the medicines for transport.
Buyer:
  1. Sends the prescription and, if necessary, the basic set of medication data.
  2. Informs the patient about the dispensing by another pharmacy. PharmaSwap provides a standard information letter for this purpose.
  3. Registers the medicine again and submits the claim according to the normal procedure with the patient’s health insurer.

PharmaSwap ensures that a pickup order is created with the logistics partner. The buyer also receives an invoice for the agreed price.
